1. Information We Do Not Collect
SecureNet does not collect, store, or transmit your DNS queries, browsing history, or the contents of any network traffic. All filtering happens locally on your device — no data ever leaves your phone as a result of the filtering process.
2. How the App Works
SecureNet uses a local on-device tunnel to intercept DNS queries — the requests your device makes when looking up a website or service by name. Each query is checked against a locally stored filter list. Queries to known trackers and unwanted services receive a blocked response. All other queries are forwarded to the DNS resolver you choose in Settings (Cloudflare by default).
The tunnel operates entirely within the app's own process on your device. No traffic is routed through any external server operated by RGK Innovations.
3. Permissions Used
- Network access (local tunnel): Required to intercept and filter DNS queries on-device. No external routing is involved.
- Internet: Used to download filter list updates from public community sources, and to send anonymised crash reports (see Section 4).
- Foreground Service / Notifications: Required to keep the filter running in the background and to display the persistent status notification.
- Receive Boot Completed: Used to automatically resume filtering after a device restart, if you had it enabled before shutdown.
4. Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to automatically report crashes. When a crash occurs, Crashlytics collects:
- The stack trace of the crash
- Device model and Android OS version
- A randomly generated Crashlytics installation identifier
Crashlytics does not collect DNS queries, filter list contents, browsing history, or any other app data. Crash reporting is disabled in development builds. For more information, see Google's Firebase Privacy information.
5. Filter List Updates
SecureNet periodically downloads updated domain filter lists from publicly maintained community sources (such as the Hagezi DNS Blocklists and Steven Black's Hosts project). These downloads contain only domain names — no personal data is transmitted in either direction. Updates occur over Wi-Fi by default and can be configured in Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
SecureNet does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not contain features directed at children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
